People of India

March 4, 2016

Last week we were in Poland. This week we’re in a new country, India, to find out what people would spend the average saving of 1000 rupees on if they simply checked before they sent money home.

“My father was a tailor and my mother was a housewife. My dream to become an educated man couldn’t be fulfilled since my father died at a very early age. If I was given an extra amount of 1000 per month, I’d love to invest it in my own business.”
“I am basically a simple man leading a very simple life. I have simple needs. I’d spend it on the treatment of my ill mother. She was diagnosed with alzheimers’ a year ago and the medications and the consulting fees are very expensive."
“I’ve been working as a rickshaw puller for more than 23 years. Before that I was in the same field but used to drive trucks. People in the transport industry really need to insure their lives. Insurance of the vehicle is done but I don’t have enough for
“I had a dream of having my own grocery store, but I am a father of 4 children, so any extra money would help me fulfil some of the needs of my family”
“I might thank my husband for educating our son. I would buy my husband a very nice gift with the extra money!”
