Keep on learnin’
Oct. 7, 2016
We’ve been selected for the Accelerator Academy’s 15th semester!
This week co-founders Shreya and Omid took
part in the first of 12 sessions at the Accelerator Academy – a prestigious
training programme that takes on high-growth startups and provides them with
the mentorship, connections, and tools they need to realise their potential.
As we look ahead to 2017, we know that what TransferGuru needs to do most urgently in the next year is spread the word. Most remitters still don’t know that they can easily compare rates on their next money transfer, and that is something we want to change. We also want to add more providers for comparisons, and more ways for you to compare. To do all this, we need to be faster, smarter, and leaner than ever before. It’s what led us to think we could learn from someone who has pearls of wisdom to offer, and so we applied for the Accelerator Academy.
The Academy has a long history of supporting startups that have gone on to make tangible impacts in their industry (Loot is one of an impressive list of alumni), and provides structured learning on everything from understanding our customers to hiring the best talent for the job. Our intention is to take each week’s learnings and use it not only to make the company better, but to reflect on how exactly we’re going to make its impact felt by our customers.
Omid had this to say on the next few months at TransferGuru: “In the next 3 months, we want to be ready to start building a newer, sleeker version of the site – one that meets our users where they’re at. We want to redefine the limits on how money transfer is done, and put users back in control of when, where, and how they send their money. By the time we finish this programme we’ll be ready to do this.”
As ever, we’re all ears on what you think. If you have thoughts or questions on how we can make money transfer comparison easier for you – from countries that we are not yet featuring to information you want us to find for you – get in touch. We’re also looking to hear from new providers who want to be featured in our rankings, who can pop a message to Shreya here.
